WOODTURNING

PENDANT LIGHTS

Pendant lights almost always emanate from various projects’ leftover material that might otherwise have ended up as firewood. Each one’s shape is dictated partly by the dimensions of the piece of wood, but mostly by what strikes me at the moment. Pendant lights are available for sale at Frenchtown Home and Hardware (frenchtownhardware.com). For sales inquiries email [email protected].

BOWLS

Turned from green wood first to a rough vision of what it might become — there’s no fixed plan for what the bowl will be, I just let it happen. The rough turning will then be weeks or months drying before final turning and finishing. They’re mostly from cherry, ash, maple, and walnut which are most readily available, but sometimes holly, dogwood, or even chestnut show up and it’s always exciting to see what kind of figure lurks within.

All bowl finishes food safe: Tried and True (T&T) Danish Oil and Original (linseed oil/beeswax) and Waterlox.

Bowls are available for purchase at Junto in Frenchtown.
